Overview
The Orfalea Foundations' Mission is to support collaborative initiatives and entrepreneurial partnerships that promote educational development and sustainable solutions.
Based in Santa Barbara, California, our support is concentrated first and foremost in Santa Barbara County and to a lesser extent in Ventura, and San Luis Obispo Counties.
Committed to improving and enriching early childcare, educational programs, and other community services, the Orfalea Foundations actively seek innovative and effective programs that meet our goals to systematically impact the communities we live in.
In our effort to continually increase the efficiency of our own grant-making and maximize the philanthropic impact of our collective efforts, we have elected to narrow our giving focus primarily to our s’Cool Food, Aware & Prepare, Montana Yellowstone Expeditions and the Outdoor Classroom Preschool Initiatives.

The Orfalea Foundations consists of the Orfalea Fund and the Orfalea Family Foundations. Organizations can seek funding from either Foundations by submitting one general Letter of Inquiry. Grant decisions are made by two entirely seperate and distinct Board of Directors. Each Foundation has its own focus areas, however both Foundations operate under the same roof with a shared staff.
